NasDem replaces Rusdi Masse with Sidrap Regent as head of DPW Sulsel

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the NasDem Party, Saan Mustopa, said his party had replaced the Chairman of the NasDem DPW South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Rusdi Masse Mappasessu who resigned from the NasDem Party. The issue blew up, Rusdi Masse was said to have joined the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).

"We have changed. The chairman of the DPW has a new one," said Saan at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 27.

Saan said, Rusdi's position as Chairman of the NasDem DPW has been replaced by the Secretary of the NasDem DPW of South Sulawesi, Syaharuddin Alrif. Syaharudin is currently also serving as the Regent of Sidenreng Rappang (Sidrap) for the 2025-2030 term.

"So the Regent of Sidrap who was previously the Secretary of the DPW, brother of Syaharuddin Alrif, yes, he has become the Chairman of the DPW," he said.

Meanwhile, the position of Rusdi Masse as the head of Commission III of the DPR RI is currently not filled. Saab said his party was still processing Rusdi's PAW.

"Ah, the PAW is not yet, we are still in the process," he said.

Saan said his party respects Rusdi Masse's political choice if he wants to join the PSI after leaving NasDem. "Yes, it is the right and choice of each, and of course we respect each other's political choices," he said.

Saan denied that Rusdi Masse left NasDem because he did not get a position as Ahmad Ali. "No, Bang Ali was once Deputy General Chair, Head of the Faction. So everything is fine, the party has no problem with the person concerned. But if the person concerned decides to make a different political choice, we respect and appreciate it," he said.

In the future, said Saan, NasDem will remain focused so that the eastern region remains the main strength of the NasDem Party. He assessed that Rusdi Masse's replacement had understood the situation, the map, and the conditions in the eastern region, especially in South Sulawesi.

"He was also the Secretary of the DPW before, he was also the Chairman of the South Sulawesi DPRD before becoming the Regent of Sidrap. That is, we are not too worried about it," said Saan.
