Two Police Officers Died in an Accident on the Way to Cisarua Landslide Mitigation Operation

BOGOR - Two members of the Cisarua Police were declared dead while on duty at the landslide location of Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency on Saturday, January 24. The West Java Police stated that the two members were involved in a traffic accident.

West Java Police Chief Inspector General Pol. said that the two bhabinkamtibmas personnel who died, namely Aiptu Hendra Kurniawan and Aipda Muhammad Jerry Sonconery, were victims of an accident while directly involved in disaster management operations.

"Two of our members yesterday when involved in disaster management were victims of laka lantas," said Rudi in Bandung, quoting ANTARA on Sunday, January 25.

Rudi emphasized that for this incident, both personnel were declared dead in action and received an award from the National Police Chief in the form of a one-level rank increase.

"And we buried one person last night and one person this morning and they received an award from the National Police Chief with a promotion," he said.

Rudi emphasized that his party expressed deep condolences for the deaths of the two members and ensured that all rights and awards to the family would be fulfilled according to regulations.

Aiptu Hendra Kurniawan is recorded as residing in Mekarsari Village, Ngamprah District, West Bandung Regency, while Aipda Muhammad Jerry Sonconery is domiciled in Ciputri Village, Cigugur Tengah Subdistrict, Cimahi City.

The accident occurred at around 15.30 WIB when the two members were on their way to the landslide location on Jalan Cimeta, Kampung Cimeta, Tugumukti Village, Cisarua District.

While driving in tandem with other vehicles, a truck in front of the victim suddenly stopped, while the truck behind experienced braking problems so that it squeezed the motorcycle that the two personnel were riding.
