Pati Regent Sudewo Feels Sacrificed After Being a KPK Suspect

Pati - Pati Regent Sudewa or Sudewo feels sacrificed after being named a suspect in extortion for filling village apparatus positions by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

This was conveyed by Sudewo after being orange-colored and will be escorted to the KPK Detention House (Rutan) today, January 20. He is a suspect along with Abdul Suyono (YON) Kades Karangrowo, Jakenan District; Sumarjiono (JION) as Kades Arumanis, Jakenan District; and Kades Sukorukun, Jakenan District, Karjan (JAN).

"I consider myself to be sacrificed, I really don't know at all," Sudewo told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, January 20 evening.

Sudewo claimed that the three village heads who were suspects with him had met with him in early December 2025.

"Facing me at the district office if I'm not mistaken around the beginning of December, ask for guidance on filling out village devices," he said.

The Gerindra Party politician then revealed that the filling of the post of village head apparatus was also only carried out in July.

Sudewo reasoned that this condition was because the 2026 APBD was only able to provide salaries and allowances for four months.

In addition, charging cannot be done arbitrarily. "One of the selections is (using, ed) the CAT system and also inviting mass organizations, NGOs and all parties including the media to carry out supervision," said Sudewo.

"Because what? As long as I am the regent, there are appointments of officials in the Pati Regency government environment, both at the 3rd echelon and the 2nd echelon, which are hundreds of people, including officials at the regional public hospital or at BUMD, there is not one that is transactional. I didn't receive any reward," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK named Sudewo as the Regent of Pati as a suspect in alleged extortion of filling village apparatus positions with Abdul Suyono (YON) as the Karangrowo Kades, Jakenan District; Sumarjiono (JION) as the Arumanis Kades, Jakenan District; and Karjan (JAN) as the Sukorukun Kades, Jakenan District.

Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, said that the tariff of Rp. 165 million to Rp. 225 million must be paid by the prospective village apparatus (caperdes). This figure is said to have been marked up by Abdul Suyono and Sumarjiono from Rp. 125-150 million.

There was also a threat, namely that the village apparatus formation would not be reopened the following year if the caperdes did not want to hand over the money.

During the silent operation, the KPK then secured Rp2.6 billion which had previously been stored in sacks.

As a result of his actions, Sudewo and his colleagues were suspected of violating Article 12 letter e of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 jo Article 20 letter c of the Criminal Code.

They were also detained for the first 20 days at the KPK Detention Center. This detention will be extended as needed by investigators.
