The Serang Police Chief, AKBP Andri Kurniawan, said his party moved quickly to investigate and process the crime scene after receiving a report from residents on Sunday.

"We have conducted an in-depth investigation. So far, a total of five witnesses have been examined, both from residents around and from the family of the heirs," said Andri as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 19.

Andri explained that the examination of witnesses was carried out to uncover the chronology and motives behind the demolition of the tomb. His party also continues to coordinate with the Jawilan Police to investigate the alleged criminal elements in this incident.

The incident had shaken the residents of Junti Village. The tomb that was demolished was known as the name of Sajim (65), a resident who had died about seven years ago.

Based on the results of the temporary examination at the scene, the condition of the tomb was found to be dug. The police suspect that the perpetrator took part of the body of the corpse.

"The grave of the deceased was found in a dug condition, and the skull or the contents of the tomb were allegedly taken by the perpetrator who is still being sought by us," explained Andri.
