PAM Jaya started the construction of the Service Center building which was marked by a groundbreaking in the Pejompongan I Water Treatment Plant (IPA) area, Central Jakarta, today. The construction of this building was inaugurated directly by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung.
In his remarks, Pramono emphasized the importance of the transformation of PAM Jaya as an adaptive, professional, and public service-oriented regional company. He assessed that PAM Jaya is currently in a healthy company condition and has a strong foundation to continue to improve the quality of clean water services for Jakarta residents.
"If professionally you are able to make improvements in the water management mechanism in Jakarta for public needs, I believe that one day private companies operating in Jakarta will learn from PAM Jaya," said Pramono in Jakarta, Thursday, January 8.
The construction of this Service Center building is in line with the implementation of DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 48 of 2025 which targets 100 percent coverage of piped drinking water services by 2029. This building is also part of the transformation of PAM Jaya as the sole operator of drinking water services in Jakarta.
One of the main functions of the building is as an education center for water. This facility is designed to be a learning facility for the community regarding the water cycle, the benefits of piped drinking water, water conservation, and the importance of reducing the use of groundwater for the sustainability of urban environments.
Through the water education center, PAM Jaya wants to present an informative and interesting educational approach. This facility is expected to become a learning destination for students, communities, and the general public, as well as building awareness of the sustainability of water services not only depends on infrastructure, but also on the behavior and active participation of residents.
Apart from the educational function, the PAM Jaya Service Center Building is also designed as an integrated service center. In it, the customer service system, call center, coordination between divisions, to the function of supervision and control of service quality will be integrated.
The existence of war rooms and command centers will strengthen centralized operational monitoring. Meanwhile, supporting facilities such as integrated workspaces, function rooms, and sports centers are prepared to create a more conducive and productive working environment.
In the midst of rapid digital technology development, PAM Jaya considers the presence of a physical service center to be relevant. This building is designed to support a hybrid service system, both online and offline, as well as a face-to-face space for people who need information, education, and direct consultation related to piped drinking water services.
Architecturally, the PAM Jaya Service Center Building carries the concept of "urban water falling" which represents the flow of water such as waterfalls in the open air. This design maximizes the use of glass for the use of natural light, while reflecting the transparency of services and energy efficiency in building operations.
The 11-storey building with one basement has a building area of around 18,853.80 square meters and is targeted to be completed within approximately 590 days of construction.
Along with the development of physical infrastructure, PAM Jaya is also continuing to strengthen digital transformation. As of January 1, 2026, PAM Jaya's call center has been operating with the support of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to accelerate responses to customers.
In the future, PAM Jaya will also go live with the ERP system on January 15, 2026 and launch the C2M application in June 2026 as part of strengthening the company's digital ecosystem.
"We built this Service Center building not only as a service center, but also as an education center for the community, so that they will understand the importance of piped drinking water and water conservation," said PAM Jaya President Director Arief Nasrudin.
