JAKARTA - The Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI) Denny JA explained the results of the latest public survey which resulted in that the majority of the public stated that they rejected the discourse of the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) chosen by the DPRD.

LSI Senior Researcher Denny JA, Ardian Sopa said that 66.1 percent of respondents said they were less than agree, disagree, or disagree at all. Then there are 28.6 percent who say they agree or strongly agree.

"From this data we can see that above 65 percent reject the DPRD Pilkada, this figure is not a small figure, but it is also a massive and systemic figure," said Ardian when presenting the survey results in Jakarta, Wednesday, quoted by Antara.

He explained that in public opinion, when it exceeds the 60 percent limit of public approval, it means that the effect is already large. According to him, this figure is generated from respondents who are spread from various segments.

According to him, the rejection of the discourse on changing the Pilkada system also came from across the gender. Both men and women, reject if the Pilkada system is not immediately implemented.

"Then both in the village and in the city are also rejected. This issue is not only for people in urban areas, but also rural people," he said.

In addition, he said that the rejection also came from the "little children", namely low-income people and people with higher incomes.

Interestingly, he said, people with higher incomes were the most opposed to the discourse.

From the generation segment, according to him, Gen Z is the generation that most strongly rejects the discourse compared to other generations.

He said that the Gen Z segment of 84 percent rejected, Millennials as many as 71.4 percent rejected, Generation X as many as 60 percent rejected, and Baby Boomers as many as 63 percent rejected.

"Systemically, this rejection does not only take place in one generation, but in all existing generations, the majority rejects the DPRD Pilkada," he said.

He said the survey was conducted with a multi-stage random sampling methodology, as usual surveys. The number of respondents in the survey was 1,200 people in the period 19-20 October 2025.

According to him, the 1,200 respondents could represent the entire Indonesian people. Because of the results of previous election surveys, the survey produced with the number of respondents is almost the same as the results of the recapitulation of the General Election Commission (KPU)
