JAKARTA - Nadiem Anwar Makarim will attend the first trial of the alleged corruption case of the education digitization program in the form of the procurement of Chromebook laptops and Chrome Device Management (CDM) in the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2019-2022.

The first trial agenda was the reading of the indictment at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, which had been postponed twice due to the absence of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbudristek) for the period 2019-2024.

"Nadiem's condition is still under treatment, but he will attend the trial," said Nadiem's legal advisor, Ari Yusuf Amir, quoted by Antara on Monday morning.

According to Ari, his client wants to immediately resolve the problem and prove to the public that Nadiem is not a corruptor.

Previously, Nadiem's first trial was postponed twice, namely on December 16, 2025 and December 23, 2025, because he was still in a post-operative condition after undergoing surgery some time ago.

It is said that Nadiem only recovered on January 2, 2026 or 21 days after the operation took place.

In addition to Nadiem, there are four other suspects in the case, namely, Sri Wahyuningsih, Ibrahim, Mulyatsyah, and the former Special Staff for the Minister of Education and Culture, Jurist Tan. Sri, Ibrahim, and Mulyatsyah have undergone a trial on December 16, 2025. Meanwhile, the file of Jurist Tan has not been forwarded because the suspect is still at large.

In the trial of the indictment against Sri, Ibrahim, and Multyatsyah, it was revealed that the state's losses resulting from the case were allegedly up to Rp. 2.18 trillion.

State losses include Rp1.56 trillion related to the education digitization program at the Ministry of Education and Culture, as well as 44.05 million US dollars or the equivalent of Rp621.39 billion due to the procurement of CDM that is not necessary and not useful in the education digitization program.

At the hearing, it was also revealed that there were several enriched parties, including Nadiem, who received Rp809.59 billion from PT Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa (PT AKAB) through PT Gojek Indonesia.
