BANDA ACEH - The Regent of Aceh Tamiang, Irjen Pol (P). Drs. Armia Pahmi, MH has submitted a minimum six-month food aid to meet the basic needs of the community in his area after the flood. The proposal was submitted after 12 sub-districts and 216 villages in Aceh Tamiang were reported to be paralyzed.

The statement was made by Armia at a meeting of the Indonesian Republic's Post-Disaster Recovery Task Force chaired by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad in Banda Aceh, as seen in the Parliament TV broadcast, Tuesday (30/12/2025).

Armia explained that food aid was calculated for the period from January to June. The local government has calculated the needs for rice, cooking oil, eggs, and other basic ingredients so that the community can survive during the recovery period.

"Our population is 313,245 people. The estimated needs per person for six months are being formulated. We will submit a proposal letter soon," said Armia.

He said that more than a month after the disaster, recovery was still ongoing. The local government was assisted by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), TNI, and Polri to clean up the mud to the villages. Around 3,385 TNI personnel and around 800 Polri personnel were deployed in Aceh Tamiang.

The cleaning of mud in the capital of the regency has reached 80 percent and is targeted to be completed in two days. However, the main problem is now in the villages due to the limitations of heavy equipment. More than 8,000 hectares of rice fields are buried in mud, although some farmers have started to plant again.

Armia also reported four bridges were severely damaged in Balingkarang Village, Pematang Duri, Lubuk Sidup, and Pangkalan. Not all locations allow emergency bridges to be built because of the widening and shallow river conditions.

For settlements, the local government recorded 489 houses lost, 8,509 severely damaged, 9,936 moderately damaged, and 15,174 lightly damaged. The Aceh Tamiang Regency Government has prepared the construction of huntara and huntap, including proposing the release of land from 14 HGU, with a need for around 15,000 units of permanent housing.
