JAKARTA - The National Police of the Republic of Indonesia (Polri) opened a free motorcycle service and washing service for people affected by disasters in several areas of Sumatra. The facility was prepared to help residents' vehicles that were damaged so that they could be used again and support the recovery of community activities.

Listyo revealed that, to date, the total number of Polri personnel involved in disaster management in Sumatra has reached 10,759 people.

"The National Police also prepared field kitchens, health posts, clean water assistance, MCK construction, and borehole construction in three affected provinces," he said.

"Currently for field kitchens, which we are also preparing, there are 29 field kitchens. In Aceh there are 17 points, in North Sumatra there are seven points, and in West Sumatra there are 5 points. Then for health services, there are 38 health posts, posts spread across three regions as well,"

Listyo emphasized that the National Police would continue to synergize with relevant ministries, the TNI, BNPB, and local governments to ensure that people's basic needs are met and the recovery process is carried out in a safe and orderly manner.

"Then for various kinds of humanitarian assistance activities, we continue to help send assistance to strengthen existing assistance. There are approximately 227 tons of rice, heavy equipment yesterday we pushed 37, this is to help accelerate the cleaning process, especially in Aceh and in North Sumatra," he concluded.
