JAKARTA - The Chairman of the Young Force of the Golkar Party (AMPG), Steven Izaac Risakotta, assessed that the government's efforts in eradicating online gambling (judol) throughout 2025 showed tangible and measurable results.

Steven appreciates the latest data released by the Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center (PPATK), which recorded a decrease in the number of judol players of more than 68 percent in 2025. According to him, this achievement is not just a statistical figure, but a reflection of consistent policies and cross-agency synergy.

"Protecting the community from the clutches of online gambling (judol) is not just a statistic, this is about the future of our generation," said Steven in a written statement received, Wednesday, December 24.

Based on PPATK data, the value of judol transactions throughout 2025 was recorded at around IDR 155.4 trillion, down sharply from 2024 which reached IDR 359.8 trillion. The number of players also experienced a significant decline from around 9.7 million people in 2024 to around 3.1 million people in 2025, or down more than 68 percent.

Steven assessed that the data was proof that the government's supervision and enforcement policies were beginning to have a real impact on the ground.

In Steven's view, this achievement deserves appreciation for its consistency in strengthening digital space supervision.

The termination of access to unlicensed online gambling sites continues to be carried out, monitoring suspicious funds and transactions is strengthened together with PPATK, and cross-agency law enforcement cooperation shows beneficial results for the community.

"This is not just a number of people down, this is proof that the state is present to protect the people from the potential social and economic destruction due to online gambling practices," said Steven.

He hopes that the steps taken by the government can continue to be continued and strengthened on an ongoing basis, in line with technological developments and the increasingly complex challenges of digital crime.

Previously, the Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, stated that the decline in the turnover of online gambling funds throughout 2025 was a tangible result of the government's commitment supported by public participation.

"This is a collective achievement of the government and the community, which also shows that the state is seriously present to protect the community, especially vulnerable groups, from the clutches of online gambling," explained Meutya.

Meutya emphasized that PPATK data is a credible indicator of the effectiveness of government policies in supervision, cutting off access, and law enforcement.

"PPATK data is a very credible indicator of the supervision policy, the termination of access, and the law enforcement carried out by the government is effective and measurable," he said.

He added that the government would continue to narrow the scope of actors, both in terms of content, digital infrastructure, and funding flows.
