JAKARTA - Hundreds of personnel from the Jakarta Central Police (Satpol PP) were deployed to help secure the 2025 Christmas celebration at a number of churches scattered in Central Jakarta.
The Head of the Central Jakarta Satpol PP Purnama said that as many as 470 personnel were deployed from Wednesday, December 24, 2025, to Friday, December 25, 2025.
The personnel are tasked with helping to secure the police and TNI.
"We deployed 470 personnel divided into two shifts. Each shift consists of 235 personnel," said Purnama, Wednesday, December 24.
He said that Satpol PP personnel would be deployed to carry out security at 148 churches in the Central Jakarta area.
Of these, around 40 churches with a congregation of more than 200 people received full security with officers on duty at the location.
"Other churches are monitored through patrols and monitoring periodically," said Purnama.
