JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is preparing for Jakarta to enter the ranks of the world's 50 global cities by 2030. This effort, according to him, requires support and cooperation from the central government.

This was conveyed by Pramono at the launch of the Gig Economy Training Program for Gen Z and the Soft Launching of the AI Innovation Challenge which was also attended by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.

"Jakarta is now really preparing to become the top 50 (global city) in 2030. And for that I am sure that the cooperation, support from the central government is very useful and helpful," said Pramono at the Jakarta Creative Hub, Central Jakarta, Thursday, December 18.

Pramono then offered Jakarta as the host of various national programs and agendas. According to him, the central government can utilize the infrastructure and spaces owned by the DKI Provincial Government to support national-scale activities.

"If then the Coordinating Minister and the Minister want to hold an event in Jakarta, we are willing to host it completely. Use the spaces owned by the Jakarta government," he explained.

Pramono even said that Jakarta was ready to help other regions in the implementation of national-scale activities.

One of the things Pramono offered was the 2028 National Sports Week (PON), where the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) provinces would host it.

Pramono invited the two provinces to use sports facilities or venues in Jakarta for the PON of certain branches in the next three years. Considering that Jakarta as the Capital City has the most complete sports facilities compared to other areas.

"I have conveyed to the Minister of Sports, for the PON in 2028, rather than building new facilities, it's okay, the PON is in Jakarta, it's called (still) wants PON NTT-NTB, monggo. We facilitate that," said Pramono.

On that occasion, Pramono assessed that Jakarta's position as the national economic center made the synergy between the center and the regions crucial. He said that Jakarta's contribution to the national economy was still very large.

"As a city that contributes 16.39 percent to GDP (gross domestic product), and Jakarta is now growing 5.04 percent in the third quarter, of course we really hope to be able to synergize with the central government," he said.

Pramono also touched on the development of the gig economy, which is considered increasingly significant in Jakarta. "Because I believe that the Gig Economy is now almost 2.5 million who use this in the latest data from our statistics," continued Pramono.
