Pramono's Claim on the Determination of DKI UMP 2026: The Jakarta Government is an Adjudicator for Workers and Employers

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has begun processing the determination of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) 2026 after the minimum wage increase formula was issued by the Ministry of Manpower. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung claimed that the Provincial Government would take a position as a mediator between labor and business interests.

Currently, the DKI Provincial Government has received reports regarding the President's decision regarding the minimum wage determination mechanism. The decision serves as an initial reference in the Jakarta UMP discussion process.

"Regarding UMP, I have received a report on the President's decision regarding it. So, the DKI Jakarta Government will be a fair judge for workers and employers," said Pramono to reporters, Thursday, December 18.

Regarding the deadline for determining the DKI UMP, Pramono said the DKI Provincial Government actually targeted a faster completion than the deadline requested by the central government, namely on December 24. He admitted that he had asked the relevant parties to immediately hold a meeting.

"I have asked for a meeting to be held immediately. We must not be late, we will be ahead of the UMP determination. Bismillah, Jakarta is more than that, faster," he said.

Pramono assessed that the acceleration of the determination of UMP was possible because the range of wage increase calculations had been determined in existing regulations. According to him, further discussion is to find a meeting point within that range.

When asked about the amount of alpha to be used, with a range of 0.5 to 0.9, Pramono emphasized that the decision had not been determined and would still be discussed together.

However, Pramono ensured that there would be an increase in UMP from the nominal UMP Jakarta in 2025 by Rp5,396,761. This is in line with the use of a formula that takes into account various economic indicators.

"There must be an increase. Because the alpha has a range. So there must be an increase that is adjusted. The calculation is how it is related to inflation, to economic growth, and so on. We are preparing for it," said Pramono.

Previously, Minister of Manpower Yassierli asked regional heads to announce the increase in the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) by no later than December 24, 2025.

"Especially for 2026, the Governor has set the amount of wage increases no later than December 24, 2025. We hope that the wage policy contained in the PP Pengupahan will be the best policy for all parties," said Yassierli, Wednesday, December 17.

He added that the Government Regulation (PP) regarding remuneration had actually been signed by President Prabowo Subianto since Tuesday, December 16, 2025 after receiving input and aspirations from various parties, especially from the Workers' Union / Trade Union.

The formula for wage increases approved by the president is equal to Inflation + (Economic Growth x Alfa) with a range of Alfa 0.5 - 0.9.

However, the calculation of the minimum wage increase will be carried out by the Regional Wage Council, to be submitted as a recommendation to the Governor.

This new policy also regulates the provision that the governor is required to determine the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) and can determine the District/City Minimum Wage (UMK).

In addition, the governor is also required to determine the Provincial Sectoral Minimum Wage (UMSP) and can also determine the District/City Sectoral Minimum Wage (UMSK).
