YouTuber Resbob (25) is threatened with a 6-year prison sentence for allegedly insulting the Viking Persib Club and the Sunda tribe. The man with the full name Muhammad Adimas Firdaus Putra Nasihan (MAF) has been named a suspect and charged with the Electronic Information and Transaction Law (ITE).

Resbob arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang, Monday, December 15, after being arrested by the West Java Regional Police's Cyber Investigation Directorate team in Semarang, Central Java.

Director of Cyber Investigation of West Java Police, Kombes Pol Rezsa Ramadianshah, said Resbob was arrested for allegedly committing the crime of hate speech through video content while broadcasting live on YouTube.

"We managed to arrest the suspect on behalf of MAF alias Daus alias Resbob. Last Sunday, the person in question made a fuss on social media because in his content he allegedly said, accused, or insulted one of the tribes in Indonesia," said Rezsa at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Rezsa revealed that the arrest was made after the police received a report from the public since last Friday. In the search process, the suspect was known to have moved from Surabaya, Surakarta, to finally be secured in Semarang.

"Our suspect was arrested in a village, not at home, but in a gazebo. The person in question is suspected of trying to hide," he explained.

For his actions, MAF was charged with Article 28 paragraph (2) of the Information and Electronic Transaction Law (ITE) regarding the dissemination of electronic information that is provocative and causes hatred or hostility based on ethnicity, race, religion, and inter-class. In this case, the speech is suspected of being directed at the Sunda tribe.

"The maximum penalty threat of this article is six years in prison," said Rezsa.

In addition, investigators are still investigating the involvement of two other people who are suspected of helping the process of making the video. Currently, both are still in the examination stage.

"In the creation of this content, the suspect is not alone. There are two other people who help, and we are still investigating their roles," he added.

Rezsa also appreciated the participation of the community, especially the Sundanese community groups, who had provided information to the police so that this case could be revealed.
