JAKARTA - The Indonesian Navy distributed logistical assistance for disaster victims to a number of remote areas in Aceh and Sumatra via air routes. This step was taken because a number of land access to the disaster site were still damaged.

The Head of the TNI AL Information Service, First Admiral TNI Tunggul, said the TNI AL deployed one unit of the NC 212-200 Aviocar light transport aircraft with registration number U-6211 from Sutan Iskandar Muda Air Base, Aceh, on Sunday.

The plane carried 500 kilograms of logistical aid to Blangkejeren Airport, Aceh. Upon arrival at the location, the TNI AL personnel moved quickly to distribute aid to a number of disaster-affected points.

At the same time, the Indonesian Navy also deployed an AS 565 MBe Panther (HS-1310) helicopter to distribute logistical assistance to remote areas in West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra.

The Indonesian National Police also deployed an AS 56 helicopter:
