JAKARTA - Roy Suryo Cs' lawyer, Abdul Gafur Sangadji, asked that the special title of the case related to the alleged fake diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) not only be a mere administrative formality.

Abdul Gafur assessed that the title of the case must be carried out openly, qualitatively, and substantively in order to provide legal clarity, especially regarding the basis for the determination of suspects against the eight people who are members of Roy Suryo Cs.

In addition, the legal team will also ask for clarity regarding hundreds of evidence and witnesses who are said to have been examined by investigators. Abdul Gafur revealed that investigators had previously stated that they had seized around 700 pieces of evidence, examined 130 witnesses, and requested information from 28 experts.
"We want to know in detail who the 28 experts are, who the 130 witnesses are, and what the 700 pieces of evidence seized are. The suspect has the right to know the evidence that was the basis for the determination of the suspect," he said.

Abdul Gafur said that this special case title is not only limited to fulfilling formal procedures as stipulated in the Regulation of the National Police Chief, but actually becomes an objective and transparent legal clarification forum.
