Iran Emphasizes Choosing Diplomacy and Rejecting War

JAKARTA - Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stressed that Iran never wanted a war, but wanted to solve the problem through diplomacy.

"We have never trusted America as an honest negotiator, the United States is dishonest in any matter, and I think no one can trust America," Araghchi said, quoting Antara.

Regarding the 12-day war launched by the Israeli regime against Iran and the threat of a new attack, Araghchi stated that, "We also often hear that the Israeli regime is likely to attack again."

"Psychological warfare is part of the actual war, and it seems that they are currently trying to conduct psychological warfare and create fear in this country that this is part of a more general war," he added.

"Of course, this does not mean that we ignore the possibility of war. We are fully prepared; the Armed Forces and our people are ready to defend the country in any situation. We do not want war, but we want to solve problems through diplomatic channels," he continued.

According to him, one might be able to destroy buildings and equipment with bombing, but technology will not be destroyed by military attacks and knowledge cannot be erased from the mind through bombing.

He emphasized that at the core, the will of a country cannot be destroyed by bombing.

Araghchi reminded that before the military attack, they boycotted the Iranian people for years without resolving the problem.

He emphasized that there was no other solution than negotiations and diplomatic channels to solve the existing problems.

Furthermore, Araghchi stressed that Iran's current conditions and position depend entirely on the Iranian people themselves.

"I advise the United States to respect the Iranian people and the system that the Iranian people have chosen for themselves," he said.
