AGAM - Agam Regency Government, West Sumatra has prepared temporary shelters for hundreds of heads of families whose houses were heavily damaged by the impact of flash floods that hit the area.
Agam Regional Secretary Muhammad Lutfi AR said the temporary residence was built in Kayu Pasak Salareh Aia, Palembayan District, Linggai, Tanjung Raya District and Matur Mudik, Matur District.
"We will temporarily build the housing and development funds will come from BNPB. Temporary housing equipment assistance is on its way to Agam," he said in Lubuk Basung, Antara, Friday, December 12.
He said the temporary residence was in the form of a house growing with type 21 and conditions suitable to live in.
The temporary residence is intended for residents who do not own houses or are heavily damaged by the flash floods.
"We are making temporary housing for people whose houses are damaged and impossible to live in. In the future they will be relocated to locations that are considered safer," he said.
He added that the construction of temporary housing involving the TNI was carried out as soon as possible so that when the emergency response, it could be relocated to temporary housing.
Currently, there are 410 heads of families who have temporarily built temporary housing, with details for the residents of Salareh Aia as many as 200 heads of families and Salareh Aia Timur 210 heads of families.
Residents in Tanjung Raya, Matur and Malalak are still being collected, because some people are not willing to move.
"We are still collecting data on residents and if we are willing, we will wake them up," he said.
He admitted that the high rainfall accompanied by strong winds hit the area a few weeks ago resulting in floods, flash floods, landslides and tornadoes hitting Agam.
