Deputy Mayor Of Bandung Becomes Suspect Of Alleged Corruption, Dedi Mulyadi: We Follow All Legal Procedures

JAKARTA - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi did not say much about the Deputy Mayor of Bandung Erwin who was named a suspect in alleged corruption by the Bandung City Attorney General's Office (Kejari). He only emphasized that everyone is the same before the law so legal procedures must be followed.

"We follow all legal procedures, everyone must obey and have the same position in the eyes of the law," said Dedi to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, December 11.

Even so, Dedi said he would not remove Erwin because it was not his authority as governor. His party prefers to wait for the process of handling the case until it is tried and has permanent legal force.

"Dismissal is not within the governor's authority, that it will proceed in court and then wait for a final legal decision," he said.

Erwin became a suspect in accordance with the Suspect Determination Letter Number: TAP-10/M.2.10/Fd.2/12/2025. He was dragged along with Bandung City DPRD member Rendiana Awangga alias Awang based on the Suspect Determination Letter Number: TAP-11/M.2.10/Fd.2/12/2025.

Both of them are suspected of having jointly abused their power by asking for a package of goods and services procurement work to officials within the Bandung City OPD.

Furthermore, the work package is carried out and is legally beneficial for the party affiliated by the person concerned.
