TNI All-Out Help Disaster Victims In Sumatra: Logistics, Medical Personnel, To KRI Hospital Deployed

Deputy Head of the TNI Information Center Brigadier General Osmar Silalahi ensured that all the main weapons systems (defense equipment) of the TNI were deployed optimally to deliver logistics, basic needs, health workers, and construction equipment to various disaster locations in the Sumatra region.

"In principle, all institutions will have totality in carrying out assistance in dealing with this disaster, and must be fast," said Osmar in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, December 11.

In a confirmed press statement, Osmar said that so far there are 76 defense equipment that have been moved to Sumatra.

"Alutsista consists of 23 transport planes, 35 helicopters, 16 KRI, and 3 ADRI ships," he said.

The aircraft used came from all TNI dimensions, including A400, C-130, CN-295, and Cassa-212 belonging to the Indonesian Air Force, as well as transportation units from Penerbad and Penerbal.

Meanwhile, the helicopters deployed belonged to the Indonesian Air Force, Penerbad, Penerbal, Basarnas, BKO BNPB, and the Ministry of Defense. All elements of the air have continued to actively distribute logistics to a number of disaster points in Sumatra.

Not only air power, sea elements in the form of KRI transport, KRI tankers carrying fuel, and KRI hospitals were also alerted in military operations other than war (OMSP) to assist disaster management in the area.

Osmar menambahkan, TNI membuka kemungkinan menambah jumlah alutsista yang dikerahkan ke Sumatera. Ia berharap upaya ini dapat mempercepat proses pemulihan pascabencana.

Osmar added that the TNI opened the possibility of increasing the number of defense equipment deployed to Sumatra. He hopes this effort can accelerate the post-disaster recovery process.
