Central Lampung Regent Affected By KPK OTT, Bahlil: We Respect The Legal Process

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party Bahlil Lahadalia said he could not comment much on the Regent of Central Lampung, Lampung, Ardito Wijaya, who was caught in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrest operation (OTT).

"Until now I haven't received any information, the first is that I haven't received any information," Bahlil said as quoted by ANTRA, Wednesday, December 10.

However, Bahlil emphasized that he would respect the legal process, adding that all parties must uphold the principle of presumption of innocence related to the legal process.

"We respect all legal processes by prioritizing the principle of presumption of innocence," he said.

Ardito Wijaya is known to have just joined as a cadre of the Golkar Party.

The KPK conducted a hand arrest operation (OTT), and arrested the Regent of Central Lampung, Lampung, Ardito Wijaya.

"It's true, the Regent of Central Lampung has been arrested," said Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Fitroh Rochcahyanto.

But other KPK figures and leaders as well as KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo have not provided further information regarding the arrest of the Central Lampung Regent.

Meanwhile, the KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the status of the Central Lampung Regent in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
