OIKN Tightens The Supervision Of Bukit Suharto Tahura, Illegal Activities Start To Be Swept Away

SEPTAKU - The Capital Authority of the Archipelago (OIKN) affirms its commitment to combat forest destruction in the IKN delineation to keep the country's capital candidate areas orderly, safe, and sustainable.

"The IKN Authority is committed to keeping the IKN area orderly, safe and sustainable," said Head of the OIKN Legal and Compliance Working Unit, Agung Dodit Muliawan, in Sepaku, North Penajam Paser, Antara, Tuesday, December 9.

He added that this commitment was realized through strict law enforcement measures against various illegal activities that could potentially damage the environment.

According to Agung, security efforts are carried out through data-based approaches and routine patrols. The IKN Illegal Activity Management Task Force mapped vulnerable points and then followed up with the installation of banned boards in four strategic locations.

Supervision is strengthened in the Bukit Suharto Grand Forest Park conservation area (Tahura) after the increasing findings of illegal activities, ranging from mining without permits to land clearing that is not in accordance with the designation.

Every form of addition to Tahura Bukit Suharto, said Agung, has the potential to immediately interfere with the ecological foundations of forest city development. Therefore, the area is the main focus of prosecution.

In addition to law enforcement, OIKN also makes public input an important part of the regional management strategy. Of the total 252,000 hectares of the IKN region, the majority are forest areas supervised by the TNI, Polri, prosecutors, local governments, academics, and environmental activist groups.

Through cross-agency coordination and community involvement, OIKN targets the integration of surveillance data, affirmation of regional boundaries, and increasing law enforcement in the field.

"The National Police also emphasizes full support to strengthen the prevention and education of residents regarding the risk of illegal activities," he said.

Agung berharap tidak ada lagi perambahan atau kegiatan ilegal di kawasan IKN. Jika masih terjadi pelanggaran, ia menegaskan penegakan hukum akan dilakukan secara tegas.

Agung hopes that there will be no more illegal additions or activities in the IKN area. If there are still violations, he emphasized that law enforcement will be carried out firmly.
