KSOP Pangkalbalam Ensures Fuel And Basic Food Ships Are Priority Welcoming Christmas And New Year

In order to prevent the scarcity of fuel ahead of Christmas and New Year, the Pangkalbalam Harbormaster Office and Port Authority (KSOP), Bangka Belitung Islands Province prioritized the clothing of Pertamina's fuel-loaded vessels (BBM).

"This ship must be prioritized to accelerate the distribution of fuel to the community," said Head of KSOP Class IV Pangkalbalam Saiful Anwar in Pangkalpinang, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, December 6.

He said the policy of prioritizing Pertamina's clothing and unloading fuel ships was important because the community's fuel needs for Christmas and New Year's fuel had increased.

"Do not let the scarcity of fuel paralyze activities in celebrating Christmas and New Year later," he said.

He said that currently there are queues of ships entering Pangkalbalam Port due to natural conditions, such as receding sea water that cannot be large in size, such as ships loaded with fuel to enter the port.

"There are not many queues of ships entering the port pool and do not affect the supply of fuel in this area, because at the time of high tide these ships can enter the port pool to dock and unload their cargo at a special port owned by Pertamina," he said.

Ahead of Ncanal and New Year, KSOP Pangkalbalam not only prioritized ships loaded with fuel but also ships loaded with basic necessities to support local governments in maintaining stock and food prices in the market.

"We ensure that ships loaded with fuel and basic necessities get priority, as directed by the Governor of the Babel Islands to prioritize the important needs of the community to welcome this Christmas and New Year's Day," he said.
