JAKARTA - The Bantul Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) has extended the flood and landslide emergency response period for 14 days from what was previously enforced from November 21 to December 5, 2025.
The Head of BPBD Bantul Mujahid Amrudin said that he had held a coordination meeting with regional apparatus organizations (OPD) and related agencies as well as the Head of Sriharjo Village, Imogiri, which was located by landslides and cut off road access due to heavy rains.
"Seeing the progress of emergency handling in the field, it is very likely that we will extend the emergency response period for the next 14 days so that emergency handling can continue," he said in Bantul, Friday, as reported by Antara.
He said the emergency handling was to make an emergency bridge made of bamboo as temporary access for residents of Sriharjo who were isolated because the only road access on the banks of Oya River was cut off due to landslide cliffs on November 21.
During the extension period of the emergency response, his party together with related agencies such as the Public Works, Housing and Settlement Areas (DPUPKP), the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) and the Sriharjo Village Head will facilitate and conduct further studies.
Thus, he said, the Bantul BPBD will immediately report the current emergency handling conditions to the Bantul Regent for the extension of the landslide flood emergency response period, so that there is financial support and handling can be more coordinated with the maximum.
"Because the construction of emergency bridges from bamboo has not yet been completed, then for landslides and road handling has not yet been completed, so later we will make a report to the Regent for an extension of the emergency response period," he said.

He said, during this emergency response period, the distribution of logistics or food assistance and other residents' needs continued, especially for eight heads of families, which were indeed a priority for attention to comfort and security.
"Logistics have been fulfilled with us contributing, and supported by the village government, so for emergency handling collaboration between the Bantul Regency Government is also from the village government, because the village has a budget allocation to support emergency handling there," he said.
