Arif Satria Says Goodbye From IPB, Leaves World Ranking Achievements And Projects Of IDR 3 Trillion

BOGOR The emotional and reflective atmosphere enveloped the IPB University Joint Wednesday event today, Wednesday (3/12), because it was a farewell event for Professor Arif Satria as Chancellor, before he officially served as Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). In front of more than a thousand lecturers and education personnel, Arif described the journey of the transformation of IPB University for almost eight years.

The Chancellor invites all citizens to continue to maintain integrity, which he calls the largest capital of an institution.

Building integrity means building trust. Inter-even trust is a very conducive stage to act and become an important capital for the nation's economic progress. Trust plus capability minus personal agenda must be maintained. Everything must be done for the sake of the institution. IPB must be the main thing, "Arift's message in his statement, quoted on Friday, November 5, 2025.

In his report, he conveyed a significant surge in IPB University rankings. In 2017, the IPB rating was at the position of 750-800 in the world, and now, in 2025, IPB managed to penetrate the world's 399th rank. IPB also recorded achievements in The Interdisciplinary Science Rankings, ranked 42nd in the world and remains number one in Indonesia.

Prof. Arif, who has now been inaugurated as Head of BRIN, has also left a series of strategic projects IPB University in 2026 2029 with a value of nearly IDR 3 trillion. The project includes the construction of mini-socer fields with IPB grass innovations, genetic material storage laboratories (biobanks), Common Class Room (CCR) buildings, to the development of the Center of Excellence (CoE) National Food Laboratory and Nutrition for the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program. IPB also focuses on strengthening the halal ecosystem through the Halal Science Center which is targeted to be the largest in Southeast Asia.

In addition to infrastructure, the Chancellor is committed to increasing health insurance, education, and providing cheap canteens for employees in early 2026. In the field of governance, IPB's endowment funds have now reached Rp357 billion.

"All of these achievements are the result of the collective spirit of all IPB residents. Hopefully what we do together becomes a pious charity. We must continue to move together to provide benefits. Hopefully IPB will always be empowered," concluded Arif.
