Prabowo Orders Additional Disaster Management Budgets If Necessary

President Prabowo Subianto ordered his staff to increase the allocation of Ready-to-Use Funds (DSP) in the APBN if needed for handling the impact of flash floods and landslides in three provinces of Sumatra, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

"Mr. President has given direct instructions if there is a need for additions, then there will be additions. And this also applies to several related ministries/agencies. For example, the TNI, the police," said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 3.

The instruction, Prasetyo continued to apply to ministries and institutions involved in handling the impact of disasters, including the TNI and Polri.

"We all see that the TNI and Polri are at the forefront of the disaster management process, of course it requires financial resources that we will back up," he said.

The Minister of State Secretary stated that the government ensures that all disaster management in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra will continue to be carried out massively with full support from the central government. He continued the current government's focus on the speed and effectiveness of disaster management in affected areas.

"The most important thing is its handling. Since the disaster in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, all national resources have worked hard to handle it," he said.

Pras then emphasized that President Prabowo Subianto had instructed his staff in ministries/agencies, TNI, Polri, and local governments to provide full support for the disaster management process, including in terms of budget.

"The President immediately gave instructions to us to fully cover the disaster management process that befell our brothers and sisters," he said.

The government emphasized that the Minister of State Secretary ensured that coordination across ministries and institutions was running, including ensuring the distribution of basic needs.

Pras explained that the national food supply to be distributed to disaster-affected areas is in sufficient condition, while Pertamina continues to be ensured to be able to distribute fuel to affected areas.

Under certain conditions, the distribution of fuel also uses a method of being deployed from the air to areas that are still isolated because the land route is cut off due to flash floods and landslides.
