Aceh became one of the areas with the heaviest impacts. BNPB recorded 156 people died, 181 people were missing, and 1,800 people were injured.
Many residents were injured by falling material or dragged by the flood currents. The search operation is still ongoing with the support of the joint SAR team, the TNI, Polri, and regional volunteers.
In West Sumatra, the death toll reached 165 people, while 114 residents are still being searched. A total of 112 residents were injured. A number of areas, such as Agam, Tanah Datar, and Pesisir Selatan became the most affected locations due to a combination of extreme rainfall and hilly contours prone to landslides.
