Kiai Sepuh NU Calls On Islah PBNU, Gus Yahya: I Bow To Dawuh Para Masyayikh

JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya welcomed the call for islah from the senior Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) kiai after the Masyayikh Forum meeting which was held at the Ploso Islamic Boarding School, Kediri.

The meeting of the elderly kiai was considered a form of deep concern for Jam'iyah conditions and efforts to maintain the integrity of NU in the midst of developing dynamics.

"The attention of the elderly kiai is an important affirmation for PBNU to continue to place the unity and integrity of the people as a priority," said Gus Yahya in his statement in Jakarta, Monday, which was confiscated by Antara.

Gus Yahya expressed his sincere respect and gratitude to the people who gave directions in order to maintain the integrity and dignity of the organization.

He emphasized that he fully accepted the call of the elderly kiai so that all parties refrained and avoided steps or statements that could potentially cause divisions.

This attitude, he said, was a form of sam'an wa tha'atan based on the guidance of the masyayikh who had been the main support for the Jam'iyah journey.

He also encouraged all relevant parties to immediately follow up on the families by seeking islah or reconciliation.

"This effort must be carried out in the spirit of ukhuwah, maturity, and shared responsibility as the bearer of the mandate of the 34th Nahdlatul Ulama Congress," he said.

Gus Yahya emphasized that the greatness of the organization should not be defeated by differences of opinion. The direction of the community, he said, is an important guide to maintain the peace of the people and the continuity of the NU solemn from the central structure to the grassroots.

"We are grateful and grateful for the attention of the elderly kiai. With full sincerity, I submit to the people. Hold back, maintain the atmosphere, and try to be islah," he said.

PBNU also appealed to all Nahdliyin residents to remain calm, maintain ukhuwah, and not be easily influenced by information that cannot be accounted for.
