After Reviewing The Tapanuli Flood, President Prabowo Flies To Aceh Continue Disaster Management

TAPANULI TENGAH - President Prabowo Subianto will leave for Aceh after reviewing the handling of the flood impacts that hit Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra, Monday, December 1.

"I went to Aceh, went to Medan and (back) to Aceh", Prabowo said before departure, as reported by Antara, Monday, December.

The President is scheduled to return to Raja Sisingamangaraja XII Airport to fly to Kualanamu International Airport, Deli Serdang Regency.

From Kualanamu, he continued his journey by NAS-332/Super Puma helicopter to Alas Leuser Airport, Kutacane, Southeast Aceh Regency.

Arriving in Aceh, the President will inspect the Dona Beach Bridge which was broken due to flooding, then see the condition of residents at the Bambel Baru Village Refugee Command Post.

Prabowo said the government's current priority is to accelerate the distribution of aid, including fuel oil (BBM) and electricity supply.

He also appreciated the rapid deployment of various agencies such as the National Police, TNI, and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) in dealing with the impact of disasters.

He emphasized that his presence in Central Tapanuli is a form of the government's commitment to ensure public safety and show that the state is present in disaster management.

Previously, the government had distributed logistical and food aid to flood-affected areas. In addition, 28 helicopters were deployed to Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra to support the evacuation and delivery of air aid.

Helikopter tersebut berasal dari gabungan tiga matra TNI, kepolisian, BNPB, dan Basarnas. Operasi modifikasi cuaca juga dilakukan dalam tiga hari terakhir dan dinilai berhasil menurunkan curah hujan sehingga proses evakuasi dan penyaluran logistik dapat berlangsung lebih cepat.

Saat ini seluruh upaya penanganan terus berjalan, mulai dari evakuasi korban, pendistribusian bantuan, hingga pemulihan akses di wilayah terdampak.

The helicopter came from a combination of three TNI dimensions, the police, BNPB, and Basarnas. Weather modification operations were also carried out in the last three days and were considered successful in reducing rainfall so that the evacuation and distribution of logistics could take place more quickly.

Currently, all handling efforts are ongoing, ranging from the evacuation of victims, distribution of aid, to recovery of access in affected areas.
