MAGELANG - Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Fadli Zon emphasized the need to accelerate the revitalization of the Borobudur Temple complex while reviewing the Borobudur Temple Conservation Center in Magelang, Central Java, Sunday (30/11). This visit is the closing of a series of work in Yogyakarta and Central Java with a focus on strengthening the preservation of world cultural heritage.
Menbud Fadli said that the restoration of Borobudur was a big job that required accuracy, in-depth research, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. He appreciated archaeologists, local governments, as well as all parties who have been involved in the residential-based reconstruction of Van Erp and Stutterheim.
"This restoration plan may require several meetings, but we have reconstructed from existing residences and various studies have been carried out," said Fadli.
The Minister of Culture emphasized the use of cutting-edge technology as the key to acceleration. Digital visual analysis, 3D modeling, and computer-based data processing are considered capable of shortening time and increasing revitalization accuracy.
