JAKARTA - The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Phnom Penh returned to the field to provide services and protection for Indonesian citizens (WNI) in Cambodia.

Through the activities of Indonesian Community Consular and Gathering (TMI) held at Novotel Sihanoukville on November 22, 2025, more than 350 Indonesian citizens from various regions in Preah Sihanouk Province were present to utilize services and participate in TMI.

Activities opened with consular services that took place since morning. The Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh facilitated more than 50 Indonesian citizens to report themselves and issue Birth Certificates and SIM Making.

Live services at this location are part of the Indonesian Embassy's commitment to ensure that Indonesian citizens' documents and administrative needs can be accessed easily, quickly, and in accordance with the provisions of the law in Cambodia.

After the consular service session, the activity continued with the Indonesian Community Meeting which was opened by the Indonesian Ambassador to Cambodia, Santo Darmosumarto. On that occasion, the Indonesian Ambassador emphasized the importance of strong synergy between the Indonesian Embassy and the Indonesian community abroad.

"The presence of the Indonesian Embassy here affirms our commitment to ensure that every Indonesian citizen feels protected, heard, and accompanied. We want all Indonesian citizens to understand their rights and can access services quickly and appropriately," said Ambassador Santo in a statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh, Wednesday (26/11).

On this occasion, the Indonesian Embassy also gave an explanation of various aspects of Indonesian citizens' services and protection, including education about the dangers of drugs, prevention of drug abuse, and the obligation to comply with local law.
