Investigate Corruption Parking Retribution, Jambi Prosecutor's Office Searches Angso Duo Market Management Office

The prosecutor's office searched the Angso Duo Market Management Office, Jambi, Wednesday, November 26. The search related to the investigation into alleged corruption in parking fees for several years in the market which cost the state hundreds of millions of rupiah.

"This search is part of an investigation into the alleged irregularity in the management of parking fees in the modern market," said Head of Special Investigation Unit of the Jambi District Attorney's Office (Kejari), Soemarsono at the market management office, Wednesday, which was confiscated by Antara.

This case stems from a report that went to the Jambi Kejari that PT Eraguna Bumi Nusa (EBN) as the market manager and parking at the Angso Duo Market did not deposit parking taxes from March to December 2023.

The Jambi Kejari Special Investigation Team then conducted an investigation and found allegations of irregularities in market financial management.

The search of the PT EBN office in the Angso Duo market was carried out at around 10:00 WIB where the team brought a search warrant. The investigation team went straight to several rooms suspected of storing important documents related to financial administration and market management.

From the results of a search that lasted more than two hours, investigators brought a number of files and financial documents, including transaction data, retribution reports, and computers that allegedly contained market financial management data.

Soemarsono said the search was aimed at strengthening evidence in the investigation process and was correct, today the team conducted a search related to alleged irregularities in the management of the Parking levy at Angso Duo Market.

Kejari investigators are still investigating the involvement of related parties, including the city and provincial governments for their involvement where this search shows the Jambi Kejari's commitment to following up on cases of alleged corruption and financial irregularities in the regions and the people of Jambi hopes that this case can be thoroughly investigated and the parties involved can be given sanctions in accordance with applicable law.

After conducting a search at the Angso Duo Market Management Office, the Jambi District Attorney's Office (Kejari) moved quickly to deepen the investigation into the alleged corruption of the market levy by examining as many as 30 witnesses from various parties.

"So far, we have examined 30 witnesses, including Nur Jatmiko as Director of PT EBN," he said.

The examination of witnesses will continue to increase as investigators deepen a number of documents and electronic devices that were previously confiscated during the search and the prosecutor is still analyzing the documents and we have secured them and there is a possibility that additional witnesses will be questioned.

The search at the Angso Duo Market Management Office was carried out as part of an investigation into the alleged leakage of Regional Original Revenue (PAD) from the retribution, parking, and other market facilities sectors.

Meanwhile, the Legal Team of PT EBN Maipul confirmed that there was an examination of files at the office of the modern market manager Angso Duo and the Kejari team had gone to the office to confiscate files.
