Palace: Prabowo Rehabilitation Proposal In The Case Of Former ASDP President Director Ira Puspadewi Comes From DPR

Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi stated that the proposal to use President Prabowo Subianto's prerogative to provide rehabilitation to three ASDP officials who are currently undergoing legal proceedings in the ASDP case is a recommendation that comes from the DPR.

"On a letter of proposal from the DPR, it was followed up in one week by the Minister of Law, a letter to the President to advise the President to exercise the right of rehabilitation," he said, Tuesday, November 25.

He said Istana immediately processed President Prabowo Subianto's letter regarding the rehabilitation rights for the case.

"Furthermore, we must process it according to the applicable laws and regulations," said Prasetyo.

The president's decision, said Prasetyo, was born after a long study involving the DPR, the Ministry of Law, and legal experts.

Prasetyo explained that the government, just like the DPR, also accepts many public aspirations regarding various legal cases, including ASDP cases that have been going on for quite a long time.

"This aspiration was then studied comprehensively by the Ministry of Law before it was submitted to the President," Prasetyo added.

"The proposal was then discussed in a limited meeting," said Prasetyo.

He said the President finally decided to use his prerogative to provide legal rehabilitation to the three names in the case.

They are, Ira Puspadewi, Muhammad Yusuf Hadi, and Harry Muhammad Adhi Tjaksono. The three of them were previously involved in a case that has befallen the ASDP board of directors since 2024.

"Alhamdulillah, this afternoon the President has signed. The three of us were asked to convey this decision to the public," he said.

Prasetyo explained that the next step was to process the rehabilitation letter in accordance with the provisions of the legislation, as part of the official administrative procedure.

Also accompanying the Minister of State Secretary in the press conference, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

The Jakarta Corruption Court of Judges sentenced the former President Director of PT ASDP, Ira Puspadewi, to 4.5 years in prison and a fine of Rp500 million to the former President Director of PT ASDP, Ira Puspadewi, on suspicion of corruption in the business cooperation and acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara which caused state losses of Rp1.25 trillion.

Two other officials, Muhammad Yusuf Hadi and Harry Muhammad Adhi Caksono, were also sentenced to 4 years in prison with a fine of Rp250 million.

The decision was not unanimous because the Chairman of the Panel of Judges Sunoto conveyed his dissenting opinion, assessing that the three should be released because this case is the realm of the business judgment rule and is more appropriate to be resolved civilly.
