5 Farmers Shot During South Bengkulu Agrarian Conflict, Police Investigate Senpi Owner

JAKARTA - The Bengkulu Provincial Regional Police (Polda) are investigating the possession of firearms (senpi) after the shooting of five farmers due to agrarian conflicts in Pino Raya, South Bengkulu Regency, on Monday, November 24, 2025.

He said that on Monday afternoon, November 24, 2025, there was a conflict between employees of PT Agro Bengkulu Selatan or PT ABS and the community on behalf of the Greater Pino Community Forum or FMPR.

"That yesterday's incident on Monday, November 24, at around 13.00 WIB, the facts that occurred in the field, the location of the incident in the Block E6 area of PT ABS garden, Pino Raya Village, Pino Raya District, South Bengkulu Regency," he said.

Furthermore, at 13.00 WIB, he said, there had been a conflict between PT ABS or employees from PT ABS as many as 10 people and the community on behalf of the Pino Raya Community Forum, which amounted to approximately 40 people.

As a result of the conflict, five farmers were shot, one of whom was shot in the stomach and penetrated into the back.

"As evidence, one type of SNW revolver and 5 casings have been temporarily secured by the South Bengkulu Police, then other evidence in the form of knives or machetes is still being searched," he said.

According to Andy, the conflict that occurred in the field before the shooting was an argument between residents and company employees. which is currently making way using a bulldozer.

"That's the information we got in the field there were several demands from the public who came to employees about the road work problems carried out by this PT ABS employee. For the other victim, one employee from PT ABS who was treated in the same hospital (with farmers), who carried out the shooting, because it was suspected that the person concerned had not been violent, so the shooting was temporary information," he said.
