Puan Concerned Alvaro Found Dead 8 Months Lost: This Is The State's Responsibility

The chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, is concerned about the discovery of the body of Alvaro Kiano Nugroho, a six-year-old child who has been missing in Pesanggarahan, South Jakarta since eight months ago.

According to Puan, this case must be handled seriously by the authorities because it is the responsibility of the state.

"We are very concerned and share our condolences. That this is an emergency situation that must be responded to together, because things like this are not only the responsibility of the family or school but also the responsibility of the state," said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, 25 November.

"That's why we ask all relevant stakeholders to be able to follow up on this seriously," said the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

As the leader of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan will ask the relevant commission to summon and take this seriously to be able to take comprehensive steps and conduct evaluations. Moreover, Alvaro could be found after eight months of searching.

"Don't let this happen again and follow-up or more effective steps in the future," said Puan.

Previously, the police again took further steps regarding the disappearance of Alvaro Kiano Nugroho (6). After eight months of not being found since being reported missing in March 2025, officers are now conducting DNA tests on the human skeleton found in the Pesanggrahan area, South Jakarta, which is strongly suspected to be the body of the boy.

"The human skeleton was just found which is suspected to be Alvaro," said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly, Sunday, November 23.

Nicolas explained that the identification process must be carried out thoroughly through DNA tests in a forensic laboratory. This examination is important to ensure identity compatibility because DNA contains genetic material that is unique to each individual.

Furthermore, the South Jakarta Metro Police arrested a man related to the case of the disappearance of Alvaro Kiano Nugroho (6). The man is Alvaro's stepfather and is suspected of being involved in the kidnapping of the boy. However, Alvaro's stepfather reportedly committed suicide in prison on Saturday, November 22.
