BOGOR - The Bogor City Government (Pemkot) and Regency Government (Pemkab) continue to finalize cooperation on waste management at the Galuga Final Waste Disposal Site (TPAS).

This not only concerns waste disposal management, but also the central government's plan to implement the Waste to Energy (PSEL) scheme.

Deputy Mayor of Bogor, Jenal Mutaqin, conducted the discussion with Bogor Regent, Rudy Susmanto, at the Regent's Hall in Cibinong, Bogor Regency.

"We discussed the extension of the MoU between the city and regency. Bogor City has been dumping its waste in Galuga, Bogor Regency. To create good cooperation and minimize the impacts, today we are discussing the extension," said Jenal Mutaqin on Monday, November 24.

In addition to discussing cooperation, future budget interventions were also strengthened, with the hope of achieving the best results for both Bogor City and Regency.

The PSEL plan at the Galuga TPAS is also targeted for implementation within the next two years. Jenal Mutaqin also urged the public to remain wise in managing their own waste.

"Residents should continue to sort their waste and manage it at the household level," he said.

At the same location, Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto emphasized that Bogor City and Regency share the same passion for waste management.

"In principle, we, the Bogor Regency Government, want to continue working together to manage waste, including addressing the impacts and compensation for residents," Rudy Susmanto explained.

Regarding the PSEL plan, Rudy Susmanto stated that it would also have a major impact on the environment around the Galuga Landfill. Therefore, all agreed commitments must be fully realized by both the Bogor Regency and City Governments.

"Nothing is better, nothing is worse. We manage the Galuga Landfill together, in accordance with the regulations and laws that we have adopted and resolved together," Rudy Susmanto emphasized.
