The Commander In Chief Said That The Gaza Peace Force Entered The Selection Stage: Will Be Led By A 3-star General

JAKARTA - Commission I of the DPR has completed a closed meeting with Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto at the DPR building. One of the things discussed was the plan to send 20,000 peacekeepers to Gaza, Palestine.

"I'm sorry that this concerns the country's important strategy, we have to declare it closed. But if the points are, please ask the Minister of Defense or the TNI Commander, including the big plan, we send peacekeepers to Gaza, which number is around 20,000 personnel," said Chairman of Commission I of the DPR from the PDIP faction. Utut Adianto at a press conference, Monday, November 24.

Minister of Defense, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin said the Ministry of Defense had received orders from President Prabowo Subianto to prepare peacekeeping forces under the United Nations (UN).

"So we will carry the mandate of the United Nations, and these troops are substantially prepared by the TNI Commander. But we will empower the assignment specifications for humanitarian needs as well as the rehabilitation of damaged constructions," he said.

TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto explained that the TNI will send personnel to ensure the current situation in Gaza. If there is clarity regarding conditions in the field, the TNI will carry out a recruitment process by first undergoing a medical test.

"For troop recruitment, the first is a medical test, of course it has good health. Then also good physical, psychological as well. Then when there is clarity, we will send personnel there to the predecessors to ensure the situation there and the deployment of troops there," explained Agus.

Currently, Agus revealed, the contingent of peacekeeping troops has entered the selection stage. The plan, he said, would later be led by a three-star general.

"Then below there are three composite brigades. Later under the composite brigade it consists of one health battalion, one construction art battalion, then an aid battalion, and more mechanical assistance," he said.

"Then there is also air elements, we prepare helicopters, then C-130 Hercules aircraft, and we prepare two hospital ships from the Navy complete with helicopters on the plane," said Agus.
