SAR Team Maximizes Search For Victims Of Cilacap Landslide Day 10

The joint SAR team maximized the search for landslide victims in Cibeunying Village, Cilacap Regency, Central Java, on the 10th day by focusing efforts on two work locations, namely Worksite A-1 and B-1, using manual evacuation and heavy equipment.

Head of the Operations and Alert Section of the Cilacap SAR Office, Priyo Prayudha Utama, in Cibeunying Village, Majenang District, Cilacap, Saturday, November 22, said the addition of personnel was carried out at the Worksite A-1 because the evacuation process required the use of medical equipment and manual extriction equipment.

"At Worksite B-1 we deployed heavy equipment at marked points to speed up searches," he said, quoted by Antara.

He said it was done because there were still two victims in the search, one each at the two worksites.

Regarding the possibility of extending the search operation, he said the decision would be taken after the evaluation on Saturday, November 22 afternoon.

"We will see if there are strong signs for victims whether we can evacuate them or not," said Priyo.

The landslide disaster occurred on Thursday, November 13, last week at around 19.00 WIB, and buried a number of houses in Tarukahan Hamlet and Cibuyut Hamlet, Cibeunying Village, Majenang District, Cilacap.

Based on the initial report after the incident, the number of residents affected by the landslide disaster was 46 people, consisting of 23 survivors, two victims died, and 21 people were in search.

Based on temporary data up to the 10th day of the search operation, Saturday, November 22, at 08.00 WIB, the number of victims who died in a landslide disaster in Cibeunying Village, Majenang District, Cilacap Regency, was recorded at 21 people.

Meanwhile, the two residents who are still being searched are Maysarah Salsabila (14) at Worksite A-1 and Vani Hayati Lanjarsari (12) at Worksite B-1.
