The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has designated Mataram City as a pilot for a special category anti-corruption city with a score of 91.85.

The decision was conveyed by KPK Corruption Eradication Analyst, Aris Dedi Arham, after conducting a final assessment for two days in Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara, Tuesday, November 18.

Aris appreciated the hard work of the Mataram City Government and the community in fulfilling and implementing anti-corruption indicators over the past six months as a form of commitment to creating clean governance.

"However, we hope that the MCP notes that have been submitted by the team can be followed up immediately," said Aris as quoted by Antara.

The Mayor of Mataram, H. Mohan Roliskana, said that Mataram's success as a pilot for an anti-corruption city was the result of the collective work of all levels of the city government. He said the assessment process by the KPK had been going on since 2024.

"We should be proud because in Indonesia only three regions have received this assessment," he said.

Over the past year, said Mohan, all regional apparatus organizations (OPD) have been trying to build public trust through improving performance and maintaining the integrity of the apparatus. This achievement, according to him, is a benchmark for how much public trust is so that the government can continue to be motivated to provide better service innovations.

"Today's success is our challenge going forward to maintain public service and trust level," he said.

To maintain this title, the Mataram City Government will pay attention to KPK records, especially document and technical improvements in a number of OPDs. Mohan said there are still OPDs with MCP scores below 50 that need to be finalized, while those already above 50 will continue to be improved.

He emphasized that the city government has also opened wider space for public supervision through various available participatory channels.

People are now very critical. The government should not be allergic to criticism. Instead, we have to give more space, both for input related to infrastructure and governance," he said.
