JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) revealed that 45 people were still isolated due to landslides that occurred in Situkung Village, Pandanarum District, Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java Province, on Saturday.
Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said the dozens of residents were still in the process of being evacuated. In addition, according to him, around 286 families or 660 people have fled to the Pandanarum District Office.
"The landslide was triggered by heavy rains that flushed the area, causing the cliff to collapse, hit the plantation area and residents' rice fields, and threatened the surrounding settlements," Abdul said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, November 16.
Based on a report from BPBD Banjarnegara Regency, according to him, a resident named Klewih (40) was found unconscious and suffered a fracture.
After being evacuated and examined at the Puskesmas, the victim regained consciousness and was in good condition.
Apart from Klewih, there were 2 other residents who were injured and had been referred to the BNA Hospital and the Pandanarum Health Center. Thus, a total of 3 people were injured as a result of this landslide.
Material damage due to landslides, he said, includes about 30 housing units as well as affected rice fields and plantations. Further data collection continues to be carried out to ensure the condition of all affected areas.
He said the local BPBD together with related elements had established field posts, public kitchens, and refugee tents at the Pandanarum District Office.
"The urgent needs that have been identified include field posts, ATK, laptops, printers, banners, food logistics, mattresses, blankets, mineral water, hygiene kits, and family kits," he said.
