The case of alleged beatings and mistreatment of a resident named Agus Suriansyah (38) at a cafe in Tanjung Selor continues to be of public concern. This is because two unscrupulous members of the Bulungan Regency DPRD are referred to as reported in a police report.

The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the North Kalimantan Police (Kaltara) also conducted a crime scene (TKP) at the cafe location on Jalan Sengkawit, Tanjung Selor on Saturday, November 16.

The Director of Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Kaltara Police, Kombes Yudhistira Midyahwan, revealed that this step was taken to gather preliminary facts and ensure supporting evidence. "This is not a reconstruction, our team has carried out a crime scene investigation," said Kombes Yudhistira.

In the process, Yudistira continued, the investigative team examined various potential evidences at the scene.

"We are examining whether there are items left behind or damaged, looking for other possible witnesses, exploring CCTV footage, and confirming whether there are traces such as blood marks or fingerprints," said Kombes Yudhistira.

"Investigations are carried out professionally, involving investigators, identification units, and cafe managers and employees to confirm the chronology of events," he continued.

Kombes Yudhistira said investigators had questioned the victim and two witnesses. The plan is that the five reported people, including two unscrupulous members of the Bulungan DPRD, will be examined the following day. "The plan is that tomorrow (17/11) we will ask for information from the five reported people," he added.

He added, until now his party has not received the results of the victim's post-mortem. However, this investigation process continues. "We are still investigating. It looks like tomorrow it will just come out (the results of the post-mortem), maybe waiting for the working day," he concluded.

Previously, in the police report numbered LP/B/3.2/XI/2025/SPKT Polda Kaltara, the five reported parties were named with the initials A, S, K, and two members of the Bulungan DPRD, with the initials AHP and LB.

As a result of the incident, the victim suffered injuries to the lower lip, bruises on the cheek, and wounds on the left side of the head. Feeling objections, the victim then reported to the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT) of the Kaltara Police.
