JAKARTA - Russia will always remember North Korea's vital military role in dangerous tasks and challenges clearing mines in the Kursk Region, Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.
"We will never forget this assistance (from North Korea in clearing mines in the Kursk area)," he told a news conference.
"This work continues, is dangerous and difficult," he continued.
"And indeed, our Korean friends really help us, we really appreciate it," Peskov said in response to a question about the Kremlin's assessment of North Korea's military assistance in clearing mines in the Kursk Region.
The mine clearing operation in the Kursk Region, which had previously been released from Ukrainian troops, is still ongoing.
Together with Russian specialists, combat engineers from North Korea participated in difficult tasks to clean the region from explosives.
