North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office Searches Inalum Office For Aluminum Corruption Case

The special criminal investigation team of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office (North Sumatra) conducted a search at the PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum (Inalum) office in Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra, regarding the investigation into alleged corruption in the sale of aluminum in 2019 to the private sector, namely PT Prima Alloy Steel Universal (PASU) Tbk.

"Today, the investigative team conducted a search as a follow-up step to deepen the investigation regarding the alleged corruption crime," said the Daily Execution of the Head of the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office, Indra Ahmadi Hasibuan, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 13.

Indra said the search took place from 10.30 WIB to 16.00 WIB, in several strategic rooms, including the Director of Finance's room, Director of Strategic Services.

Then, the room of the Production Director, the Managing and Business Development Director, the Human Capital Director, the Head of the Logistics / Procurement Department, as well as the archive storage space at the PT Inalum office building.

"From the results of the search, the investigative team managed to secure a number of important documents in the form of a letter of delivery and sale of aluminum products by PT Inalum to the private sector, financial reports, and other documents allegedly related to criminal acts being investigated," he said.

The documents, continued Indra, include the sales process starting from the planning stage to the payment of the sale of aluminum products by PT Inalum.

Today's search was carried out based on a letter of approval or determination of a search permit from the Medan District Court Number: 14/Pen.Pid.Sus.TPK-GLD/2025/PN.Mdn, which was then followed up with a Search Order for the Head of the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office Number 16/L.2/Fd.2/11/2025 dated November 5, 2025.

"After this search, it is hoped that the evidence obtained can perfect the investigation process and make the handling of the case clearer," said Indra.

According to him, the case relates to alleged irregularities in the sale of aluminum by PT Inalum to PT PASU Tbk in 2019.

"Investigators are still conducting in-depth investigations to reveal the parties responsible for the alleged case," he said.
