Bogor Targets 90 Percent Of Free Nutritious Food Kitchens To Operate Early 2026

BOGOR Bogor Regent, Rudy Susmanto, stepped on the gas to pursue the national target. He is committed to completing 90 percent of the implementation of the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG) in all areas of Bogor Regency in January 2026, according to the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

This commitment was conveyed by Rudy Susmanto while chairing the MBG Kitchen Development Acceleration Meeting with the ranks of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and related regional apparatus at the Bogor Regent's Hall, Tuesday (12/11/25).

Special Privilege For Bogor, The Largest Population Host

Rudy Susmanto revealed that accelerating the construction of the MBG Kitchen, or technically called the Nutrition Food Production Unit (SPPG), requires strong cross-sectoral collaboration. He encouraged all regional apparatus to simplify licensing and administrative processes, including through the Health Service and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).

In fact, the Regent specifically requested a "privilege" or privilege for Bogor Regency. This request is based on the status of Bogor Regency as the area with the largest population in Indonesia, which automatically has greater logistical and administrative challenges.

"It is important to provide special privileges for Bogor Regency, considering that this area has the largest population in Indonesia," said Rudy Susmanto.

Not Only Students, Pregnant Women Are Also Targeted

Rudy Susmanto emphasized that the MBG program has a wide and noble coverage. Not only school students, the target of this program also includes pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and other nutritionally vulnerable communities, which are strategic efforts to improve the quality of human resources in Bogor Regency.

The Regent set a very ambitious target.

"We are ready to work hard so that in January at least 90 percent of the kitchen will be operational, this is our shared responsibility," he said.

He invited all parties, from Forkopimda to the community, to strengthen collaboration for the success of the program.

"This program is a good program, a noble program. The Bogor Regency Government is ready to run with BGN, Polri, TNI, Attorney General's Office, and the entire community, so that all Bogor Regency children in 2026 can enjoy free nutritious meals," concluded Rudy.

Field Progress: 197 SPPGs Already Operated

Meanwhile, Representative of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Tito, conveyed positive progress in the field. Of the planned total 290 SPPGs, 197 SPPGs are already operating and the remaining 93 SPPGs are still in the preparation stage.

Tito explained that BGN is actively providing assistance, starting from the selection of land recommended by the local government, to construction. After the construction is complete, BGN will continue with technical assistance through the Regional Coordinator (Korwil) and BGN KPPG.

"This support includes consultations and technical directions so that the construction and operation of SPPG in Bogor Regency runs according to the set standards," explained Tito.
