China Asks Japan To Stop Participating In Taiwanic Affairs

JAKARTA - The Chinese government asks Japan to stop interfering in matters related to Taiwan because it can have a negative impact on relations between the two countries.

"A few days ago, Japanese leaders openly made wrong statements about Taiwan implying the possibility of armed intervention in the Taiwan Strait," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a news conference in Beijing.

"This is a massive interference in China's internal affairs and violates China's first principles," said Lin Jianmelanjut.

Japanese Prime Minister (PM) Sanae Takaichi last week said the use of China's military force against Taiwan could lead to a situation that threatens Japan's survival.

As an illustration, after World War II, Japan's constitution maintains strict control over military operations. However, former PM Shinzo Abe in 2015 changed national security laws, allowing the use of military force to defend itself collectively when situations threaten.

"This is very inconsistent with the political commitments that have been made by the Japanese government so far and very bad both in terms of nature and its impacts. China regrets and opposes this and has carried out a 'd\" and "serious protests against Japan," added Lin Jian.

Lin Jian said Taiwan is part of China and the way to solve Taiwan's problems and achieve reunification is China's own business that does not tolerate foreign interference.

"What signal does the Japanese leader want to send to separatist forces 'Taiwan independence'? Is Japan ready to challenge China's main interests and stop reunification? Where does Japan actually want to bring its relationship with China?" said Lin Jian.

Japan, said Lin Jian, has committed many crimes during its colonialism of Taiwan.

"The efforts of the Japanese leader to interfere in cross-south affairs are an insult to international justice, a provocation of the post-World War II order, and a crushing blow to China-Japan relations. China must and will achieve reunification," said Lin Jian.

Lin Jian said the Chinese people had the determination, will, and full confidence to thwart any interference and external barriers to China's reunification.

"China urges Japan to immediately stop interfering in China's internal affairs, stop provoking and cross the line, and stop going further down the wrong path," said Lin Jian.
