Police Target Modern Ceh Retail Rice Price

JAKARTA - Members of the Crime Unit of the East Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim conducted direct checks on a number of modern retailers in the Duren Sawit area and its surroundings on Tuesday, November 11.

Checks to maintain food availability and ensure rice prices remain stable.

Several shops targeted for checking include Prima Freshmart, Supermarket Tips, Superindo, Cipinang Jaya Alfamart, and West Jatinegara Indomaret.

From the results of observations, rice stocks in several locations are quite available, such as in Superindo which has about 2 tons of rice.

However, in some places, especially for Premium and SPHP rice, stocks tend to be limited, even in West Jatinegara Indomaret Premium and SPHP are not available at all.

The price of premium and medium rice in most shops is relatively stable, in the range of Rp. 14,900 to Rp. 16,000 per kilogram, while SPHP is recorded at Rp. 12,500 per kilogram, although some locations run out of stock.

Kanit 4 Satreskrim Polres Metro Jakarta Timur, AKP Algerya said, according to Kepbadan No. 299 of 2025 for premium and medium rice, as well as Per Agency No. 5 of 2024 for SPHP rice, it was determined that for Zone I (Java, Lampung, South Sumatra, Bali, NTB, and Sulawesi), the price of premium rice is Rp. 14,900 per kilogram, medium rice is Rp. 13,500 per kilogram, and SPHP rice is Rp. 12,500 per kilogram.

This determination is a reference for all retailers to maintain price stability and consumer protection.

"This checking activity is important so that people can get basic needs at reasonable prices and good quality," said AKP Algerya, Tuesday, November 11.

This activity is part of the police's efforts to protect the interests of the community, ensure adequate food supplies, and prevent price spikes that harm residents.

"We also urge the public to report if they find it difficult to get rice according to the price of the provisions, so that we can immediately follow up," he said.

The East Jakarta Metro Police also emphasized the importance of the active role of the community in maintaining security and environmental order. The public is advised to remain vigilant against possible hoarding or sales practices that harm consumers.
