Discussing The Input On The Copyright Bill, The Chairperson Of The DPR Baleg Asks Ahmad Dhani And Once Accuracy: A Lossful Indonesian People

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the House of Representatives Bob Hasan asked musicians to make consensus and one heart respond to polemics related to song royalties. He also mentioned two musicians who had different views, namely the frontman Dewa 19 Ahmad Dhani and the former vocalist of Dewa 19 Once Mekel to get back to get along.

This was conveyed by Bob Hasan in a general hearing (RDPU) with the All-Indonesian Composite Association (AKSI), the Indonesian Voice Vibration (VISION), the Indonesian Recording Industry Association (ASIRI) related to the harmonization of the Copyright Bill at the Nusantara I building, parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 11.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Dhani is now a member of the Gerindra faction who sits on Commission X of the DPR, together with Once Mekel. Once, who is a member of the PDIP faction, is the proposer of the revision of the Copyright Law.

"So you are all resource persons and all of us, members of Baleg's extended family, we must realize that there are legal events related to the dispute between the singer and the creator. I think we all have to be aware of ourselves. We should not look at the apple to apple, head to head, between finally separating ourselves, which one is the creator, which is the singer. Even though actually what causes the dispute is due to a legal vacuum, not the will of the creator, not the will of the singer," said Bob Hasan.

Not only Ahmad Dhani and Once, Bob also mentioned the Padi band where vocalists, Fadli and their Piyu guitarists also have different views regarding song royalties. Bob asked that there be no more feuds because the Indonesian people were disadvantaged because they no longer heard and saw the performances of the two.

As for the meeting, Piyu, whose real name is Satriyo Yudi Wahono, was present as the General Chair of ACTION, while Fadli also accompanied Ariel NOAH as a member of VISION.

"I think starting today, Mas Fadly stated that friends with Mas Piyu, the friendship must continue. Because those who have lost, we are the Indonesian people. So that we do not produce the results of our creations as we ideal, which have had certain moments," said Bob.

"That's enough, Ahmad Dhani is with Once. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the loss for the Indonesian people. The Indonesian people have lost. We don't hear Sting's voice anymore in the song Dewa. That's right. There are characteristics of the sting in Dewa, we can't find it. Peace is back. You are united again. So we are connoisseurs, right, it's just a matter of law," he continued.

Even so, Bob emphasized that today's discussion was not a feud between the two musicians but a legal vacuum, so there needed to be a revision of the Copyright Law.

"If we talk about where there is a legal vacuum, there is a dispute, there is a dispute. It means that there is no one, so there is one fear of the creator, earlier from VISION there is confusion. Even though behind it, for example, the song was created so well. It could be that the creator created the song due to seeing the character of the singer's voice. So follow one component that cannot be separated. Now that component is divided there is a divide at impera due to an unintegrated, incompetent system," explained Bob.

The Gerindra politician also invited all parties, namely VISION, ACTION, and ASIRI, to unite their determination to resolve and issue song royalties.

"Creators are a singer's problem, the singer's problem is the creator's problem, so they both have a sense of grace, so how can this goal be successful," said Bob.

"If I am the chairman, we will goal this law here because there is a need for the Indonesian people in general. Applause for all. We are waiting for Padi's work again," he concluded.
