Jambi Community Asked To Beware Of Potential Rain Accompanied By Wind

JAMBI - Jambi Province has the potential for light to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds that occur in most of these areas. The public is advised to be aware of the potential threat of weather.

Weather forecaster at the Sultan Thaha Jambi Class I Meteorological Station Randy HB said that almost all areas of Jambi Province have the potential for light, moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning.

"The weather prediction will take place today until Wednesday at 07.00 WIB," he said in Jambi, Tuesday, November 11.

Areas have the potential for heavy rain to spread from east to west of Jambi Province, including Kerinci, Merangin, Sarolangun Batang Hari, Tanjung Jabung Timur, Tanjung Jabung Barat, Tebo, Bungo, and Sungai Penuh City.

The head of the data and information team of the Jambi Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Nabilatul Fikroh explained that the peak period of the rainy season is estimated to last from November to January 2026.

This condition was marked by the increasing intensity of rain in almost all regencies and cities during that period. For this reason, the public is expected to increase awareness of the potential for extreme weather that can occur at any time.

He said that in the last few weeks the weather pattern in the Jambi region has shown an increase in rainfall, this is a phenomenon that needs to be watched out for, because it can have an impact, such as puddles, floods and fallen trees.

According to Nabilatul, the high sea wave conditions in coastal areas are still in a safe category, these conditions are still relatively safe for shipping activities and fishermen. However, BMKG advises people who carry out activities at sea to remain alert to changing weather that can change suddenly.

"The public must prepare anticipatory steps, always monitor the official BMKG channels through applications, websites and social media," he said.
