KPK Signs Investigating Allegations Of Corruption At BPKH, Accommodation To Delivery Of Hajj Pilgrims Will Be Checked

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is hinting at investigating allegations of corruption at the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH). This process departs from the alleged corruption of quotas and the implementation of Hajj in 2023-2024 at the Ministry of Religion which is now in the investigation stage.

"Then the questions about the involvement of BPKH and others. Well, we are also (investigating, red), but this has not yet been investigated, so it cannot be conveyed in detail," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters quoted on Tuesday, November 11.

Even so, Asep said, this investigation will explore a number of aspects related to the management or use of hajj funds. Among them are related to lodging or accommodation, catering to transportation for pilgrims from Indonesia.

"So this is just information, just clue. Later, we will also check the place where the accommodation lives, the catering, then also the transportation," he said.

"And there is also information related to the delivery of goods. Because our brothers and sisters who go for Hajj also send goods and others," continued Asep, who also serves as Director of KPK Investigations.

Then, the KPK will explore the bidding process or auction of facilities for pilgrims in the Holy Land. "Don't let the money provided is large, but it turns out that there will be the winner of the auction who will win the worst and the price will be even high. Where, that's what we are investigating," said Asep.

For information, the KPK once summoned parties from BPKH in the process of investigating and investigating corruption cases of the hajj quota. One of them, Head of BPKH Fadlul Imansyah on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

At that time, Fadlul was asked by investigators about the disbursement of the 2024 Hajj Implementation Fee (BPIH).

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption related to quotas and the implementation of Hajj in 2023-2024 at the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag). No suspects have been named for using a general investigation warrant (sprindik).

The general Sprindik uses Article 2 Paragraph 1 and/or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2021 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. This means that there are state losses that occur due to this corrupt practice.

State losses in the corruption case of quota and Hajj for the period 2023-2024 are said to have reached more than IDR 1 trillion. This number is still increasing because it is only the initial calculation of the KPK which continues to coordinate with the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

During the investigation process, a number of parties have been questioned, including Yaqut Cholil Qoumas. Investigators have also searched his house and found documents and electronic evidence that are suspected to be related.

Then, checks were also carried out on more than 300 travel agents or travel agents who organize special Hajj (PIHK) and confiscated money from them. However, the KPK has not detailed the amount because the calculation is still being carried out by investigators.
