Bobby Nasution's Fate In The Bribery Case Of The North Sumatra Road Project Waits For The Results Of The Session

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the deepening of the involvement of North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution in the alleged corruption of road projects was still waiting for the results of the trial at the Medan Corruption Court. Prosecutors will report after a decision has permanent legal force.

"The trial has not been completed, yes. Reports related to the trial after completion are like reports on the progress of the investigation," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, November 10.

"Why? Because of course if the trial is still ongoing, that's the decision that doesn't exist yet. We'll wait for the verdict," he continued.

From this report, the KPK will determine follow-up such as developing cases.

"Wait until the trial is over and later there will be a report from the Prosecutor regarding the implementation of the trial," said Asep, who also serves as Director of KPK Investigation.

The prosecutor has just read out the demands for two defendants in a corruption case at the North Sumatra Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office. They are the President Director of PT Dalihan Natolu Group, Akhirun Piliang alias Kirun and Director of PT Rona Namora, Rayhan Dulasmi Piliang.

Akhirun dituntut 3 tahun penjara sedangkan Dulasmi dituntut jaksa 2,5 tahun penjara. Pembacaan tuntutan dilakukan di Pengadilan Tipikor Medan pada 5 November lalu.

The prosecutor also demanded that at the end of a fine of Rp. 150 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison and demanded Reyhan Dulasmi Piliang, a fine of Rp. 100 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

Meanwhile, Typhoon Ginting, who is a subordinate and close person to Bobby Nasution, will soon be tried. Likewise with Rasul Efendi Siregar as Head of UPTD Gunung Tua and Heliyanto as PPK of PJN Satker Region I North Sumatra.

As previously reported, the KPK held a hand arrest operation (OTT) in the North Sumatra region on Thursday, June 26. It is suspected that money was given in the road construction project in the province.

From this action, the KPK then named Typhoon Obaja Putra Ginting or Typhoon Ginting as the Head of PUPR Office for North Sumatra Province as suspects along with four other people.

They are Rasul Effendi Siregar as Head of UPTD Gunung Tua Department of PUPR North Sumatra Province concurrently Commitment Making Officer (PPK); Heiyanto as PPK PJN Satker Region I North Sumatra Province; M. Akhirun Efendi Siregar as President Director of PT DNG; and M. Rayhan Dulasmi Pilang as Director of PT RN.

The Typhoon was in the spotlight because it was inaugurated as the Head of PUPR on February 24 by the Governor of North Sumatra Bobby Nasution. He previously served as Head of the Public Works Service or the Department of Water Resources, Highways and Construction Development of Medan City and had served as Acting (Plt) of the Medan City Secretary when the son-in-law of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia sat as Mayor of Medan.

The KPK revealed that there were six road construction projects with a budget of IDR 231.8 billion which allegedly had been bribed.

The details are as follows:

1. Preservation of Jalan Simpang Pinang-Gunung Tua-Simpang Pal XI 2023 (project value of Rp56.5 billion);2. Preservation of Jalan Simpang Kota Pinang- Gunung Tua-Simpang Pal XI 2024 (project value of Rp17.5 billion);3. Rehabilitation of Jalan Simpang Kota Pinang-Gunung Tua-Simpang Pal XI and handling of avalanches 2025;4. Preservation of Jalan Simpang Kota Pinang-Gunung Tua-Simpang Pal XI 2025;5. Construction of Jalan Sipiongot boundary Labusel (project value of Rp96 billion); and 6. Construction of Jalan Hutaimbaru-Sipiongot (project value of Rp61.8 billion).
